The Fall of the Empire
With the obliteration of Hiroshima and Nagasaki with the atom bomb, the war ended in 1945. Also ended were the lives of Hitler and many of his close comrades: not in honor as casualties of the war who were fighting for something they believed in (no matter how distorted their vision may have been) but in cowardice, escaping blame, trial, and certain death for war crimes committed.
_ According to A Time of Terror, "Suicides were also extremely common in those who were close to Hitler. 8
out of 41 Nazi leaders killed themselves before 1945 and 7 out of 47 SS
officers did the same. For instance, Joseph Goebbels who became a Nazi
in 1923, and Hitler’s official successor, had others poison his six
children with morphine before him and his wife both shot
themselves. Josef Terboven, who was a Gauleiter or a Nazi Party leader,
immediately committed suicide after hearing of Hitler’s death by setting
off 50 kilograms of dynamite in his bunker".

According to A Time of Terror,"Heinrich Himmler was a very important Nazi. He established the first concentration camp and was the prime architect of the Holocaust, organizing death camps. When he tried to escape Hitler, he was captured and then poisoned himself."
There is a myth that Himmler planned to have Hitler murdered and have his body flown to England where Himmler would impress Eisenhower and would then become President of a new German government. After this, Himmler wanted Germany, America, and England to gang up on Russia and defeat the massive country with overwhelming force and firepower. |
